Chief Financial Officer / Operations Officer - Fashion Brand

Start on 4 days/week (max £80K for 4 days) with a view to full time

London - permanent

A leading young fashion brand is searching for an experienced Chief Financial Officer / Operations Officer to join the team of high-performing professionals and to keep finances positioned for continued success. As Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s operations, driving the financial planning and strategic decision-making process by providing crucial insights and analyses that support the company’s business expansion efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Chief Financial Officer

  • Financial planning and forecasting, including annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning.
  • Analyse KPI’s and financial metrics to provide comprehensive business insights for decision making on pricing, profitability, and growth strategies, detect trends and proactively address risks and opportunities in a changing environment.
  • Produce accurate financial reports, including financial statements, monthly management reports, cash flow projections and KPIs.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, proactive finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross team communication and workflows.

Operations Management

  • Develop and implement efficient operational processes and procedures to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Monitor KPI’s and performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Review of e-commence and wholesale freight methods to ensure most economic delivery of sales orders to customers.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure the business stays on Critical Path.

 Sourcing, Production & Logistics

  • Optimize supply chain management and logistics to drive operational efficiency, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with sourcing on factory allocation to ensure target margins met.
  • Maintain all costing to ensure accurate margin reporting.
  • Monitor global logistics and identify/mitigate any risks to deliveries.

E-commerce

  • Work with e-commerce team on effective day to day management and operations of the e-commerce site.
  • Work with e-commerce team on short and long terms goals and the implementation.

Sales

  • Measuring and analysing current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships to optimize business growth and revenue strategy.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for expansion, including identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and market penetration.

Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage all operational functions of the company including finance, human resources, IT, and supply chain.
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management and retention.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and other business partners.

Qualifications/Skills

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or a Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • 5 or more years as either a CFO/FD (experience in either the fashion industry or in ecommerce is preferred).
  • Demonstrable track record overseeing accounting and financial planning and analysis functions.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax.
  • Experience leading turnarounds and making strategic choices.
  • Strong operational acumen with a deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
